Two hands, one table

Green is your right hand and blue is your left, the same two colours as the falling keys in every video I make. Your left hand keeps the pulse. Your right hand plays the rhythm. A long block is one beat. A short one is half a beat. Pick any of the six days, or chain them from day 1 and tap straight through without stopping.

Getting it into your hands

  1. Left hand alone first. Tap it on your leg until it runs without you watching it. Nothing else happens until that is boring.

  2. Add the right hand slowly. Half the speed you think you need. Speed hides mistakes, it does not fix them.

  3. Switch to left hand only and tap the right hand part yourself. That is the real test, and it is where most people find out the right hand was leaning on the sound.

  4. Then chain from day 1. Straight through, no stopping. If you fumble, go back to the start and run the whole thing again.

The hard part was never the notes. It is doing two different things at once and letting neither one bully the other.
